MSMFF, Video #01 - My room at the Hotel Espresso in Montreal

The plan was to get to Montreal tonight in time for the Keynote by Alex Kamer (Robot Chicken) at the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival. Unfortunately, that didn't happen due to having to work later in Toronto than planned on the colour for the Dieppe episode of War Story, which on it's own would have been okay... but by the time I left the office it was rush hour... so my dream of seeing the keynote died a slow death on the Don Valley Parkway. When I got to Montreal the show was over. So that was the downer part of today.

There was a highlight however, and that was checking into the Espresso Hotel. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, which I appreciated as I was pretty much dead on my feet on arrival. When the staff found out that I ran the Canadian Animation Blog, they even gave me a deal on my room, which I have to admit made me feel pretty damn good.

Once I got to my room I summoned just enough energy (thanks to the 24/7 access to complimentary high-end espresso at the front desk) to shoot some photos and a quick travel video of my hotel room. As you can see in the photos below, the space is very comfortable. You can relax right into it. I love the living area with couch and chairs.

Hopefully I can get this room (and the couch) tomorrow, but since they're almost at capacity the rate for a room here tomorrow is $700 - which is a bit out of my price range. So we'll see what happens.

Alright, I'm going to bed now, sweet dreams to everyone.

UPDATE: I slept very well. I recommend the memory foam top beds here.

Cozy living space with super comfy couch.

All setup and ready to go - Notice the "Artist of the Day" is Andrew Murray.
Two queen sized beds. I tried them out before I took the picture.
Very clean bathroom. Definitely a bonus.
