SCREENING (Toronto) - "A Story of Love and Fury", Written and Directed by Luiz Bolognesi

The Brazil Film Fest is screening A Story of Love and Fury on Dec 1st at the TIFF Bell Lightbox at 7:30pm. A Story of Love and Fury won the Crystal in the Best Feature Film Category at Annecy this year.

This screening is being co-presented by TAAFI, TAIS, Silver Snail and the Toronto After Dark Film Festival.

I got a chance to see A Story of Love and Fury at the Waterloo Festival for Animated Cinema this year. It is a great film, but you shouldn't go in expecting a standard film structure. It's more along the lines of a four part anthology that happens to have the same protagonists in each section. Each section deals with a point of societal conflict in Brazil. The first three are historical and the final one revolves around a theoretical conflict that may occur. I didn't find the writing or story angels to be particularly creative, but the visuals definitely make up for it. If you get a chance, make some time to see this film.
