PHOTOS - Toronto Animation Arts Festival International: It has begun!

Ok, TAAFI 2012, the inaugural year of this festival has kicked off!

And.... it's amazing.... where to start...  Ronal the Barbarian?  Sure.

So, there were barbarian's hired to greet people, play music, and wreak havoc in the streets and in the foyer of the Bell Lightbox theatre.  There was also the North American Premiere of Ronal the Barbarian, which is a Danish stereoscopic computer animation film that pokes fun at the barbarian genre with a very European sense of humour.  Something that we North American's could learn a little from I think.  The English dialogue and voice acting was also surprisingly good for an english dub.

Anyway, it was a great way to start the party off and tonight will finish at the Bouncing Ball TAAFI party hosted by Nelvana.  At MARO on 135 Liberty St.

It's $20 and you should drop by.  Animators are some of the best people to party with ;)

First round of pictures from TAAFI 2012 are below.

P.S. If you're just finding out about this festival now get your rear and gear and get tickets.  There are two days left and there are amazing animation screenings, workshops, and voice actor readings.

Check out TAAFI.ca for all the details.
