MASTER CLASSES - Chris Landreth, Making Faces - TAAFI 2012

Master Class with Chris Landreth: Making Faces

Master Class Description from TAAFI website
We are hard-wired to see the minute details of human faces. We know instantly when an animated face is 'right' or 'wrong' the moment we see it. MAKING FACES will focus on animating faces that are 'right': realistic, believable and compelling. You will learn the appearance and behaviour of people's faces, insights that you can apply directly to your character animation. The face defines your character. Master it.

Chris Landreth

Filmmaker - Seneca College, NFB

His documentary Ryan (2004), produced by the National Film Board of Canada and Copperheart Animation received over 60 international awards, including an Academy Award in 2005.
Chris then created The Spine (2009), a story of a troubled marriage and its dramatic consequences, in a film that explores the dark, absurd and messy paradoxes of codependency.
Chris is currently in production on Subconscious Password, a short film to be released in 2013. In addition to filmmaking, he teaches “Making Faces”, an intensive course on Facial Animation, to schools, universities and animation studios worldwide.
